Assessment

  • All students are set an end of GCSE target grade for each subject by Autumn half-term.
  • Specific and future support is made appropriate to student needs.
  • Regular assessments are made.
  • There will be an assessment report every seven weeks.
  • Each assessment report takes the form of a performance profile. These are produced and sent to parents throughout the year to enable progress against targets to be monitored.
  • A range of study support, adaptation of teaching, monitoring and mentoring strategies would be put in place to ensure that any student under performing is helped to get back on target by the next assessment round.
  • In addition to the Performance Profiles that are sent home, an end of year Annual Report will be issued to inform parents of their son’s/daughter’s progress each year.
  • Also, there will be one Parents’ Evening and one Celebration of Achievement Evening each academic year.
  • The School curriculum will also be suspended on two days each year, one in January and one in June. Students will attend a meeting accompanied by parent(s) with their personal tutor. The meeting will be used to discuss attainment and progress based on recent attainment data, and any issues relevant to the student’s learning and progress.
