    Oliver Nailard from Reaction Engines came to Space Studio Banbury to talk to year 12 and year 13 physics students and interested year 11 students about his role as a rocket engineer. He spoke to them about the development of rockets and some of the big barriers/problems with rocket technology and then went through how Reaction Engines are trying to overcome some of these with their new Sabre engine. He emphasised the growing size of the space industry, not only in the UK but locally and the exciting changes that their new rocket engine will potentially bring to the space industry. Read more

    The RAF visited Space Studio Banbury for a day of activities with Banbury Academy year 9 students. The day began with an engineering challenge to build the largest tower from art straws. This was followed by the students programming a robot, in groups, to move around a floor map and ended with making a Mars Rovers from Kinex. A fantastic day was had by all. Read more

    Lego Construction Cup for SSB

    Space Studio Banbury students went to the Lego League Championships Aureus. We were greeted at the doors and once inside, we were confronted with the challenge of constructing a windmill. As well as this, we created a plan and speech for a renewable source of power for Portsmouth. We had a really fantastic day and to top it all off we came back to school with the construction cup.
